Umpqua Bank Bel Aire
Site-Specific Brand Artwork
Napa Valley, CA – 2012
Custom CNC’d lettering cut out of wooden wine crates that were sourced from various Napa Valley vineyards. Key words from the brand narrative were highlighted using a variety of typefaces, including serifs, slab serifs, and scripts, and combined with vinyl text and illustration. Existing winery logos and branding, along with trace burns from the cutting process, were visible on some of the letterforms, echoing the artisanal character of the Bel Aire community. The design intended to reflect the natural beauty of Napa Valley and the surrounding area.

Extending the Brand
In addition to the brand artwork, a large digitally printed mural was installed over the service desk in the lobby of the Bel Aire branch. Similar illustrations of grapevines were used, ensuring design consistency with the brand artwork, as well as providing a graphic accent above the wood paneled wall.
