Site-Specific Brand Artwork
Portland, OR – 2009
A hand drawn mural executed entirely in graphite, applied directly to the walls, and extending on to the ceiling of the ATM vestibule. The design celebrates the respite taken by the Vaux Swifts inside the chimney of the Chapman Elementary School in Portland, OR during their annual southern migration. A dozen unique illustrations of swifts in mid-flight were used to create the various silhouettes. The stencils were cut out of Lucite sheets and applied with graphite to the wall, creating the effect of a flock swirling around the chimney stack.
