2022 MarCom Award Winner for best integrated marketing campaign and best team achievement. First launched in Times Square, NY and later rolled out to four major cities worldwide. A brand awareness campaign designed to position Akamai as a trusted leader in internet security, not just a reliable CDN. The “life online” campaign included an inspired series of ads using stock footage to tell a clear and powerful story of all that Akamai makes possible. The design was simple and straightforward, meant to celebrate “human moments” rather than technical hardware and software. Akamai’s customers are the heroes, not the technology.

As a B2B company, Akamai leaned into its corporate mission to protect customers online, by promoting partners like AT&T and refocusing its marketing efforts on the customer, rather than the product. In an increasingly crowded marketplace, the key differentiator was adopting a consumer-facing approach, featuring accessible and relatable outcomes, rather than stats and data points.
